Study abroad with a clearer plan

The German mission in Kabul is closed. Its official instructions direct national study applications to the Consular Services Portal and the Afghanistan visa section in Islamabad. University entry, language and financial evidence are separate requirements.

A recognized educational institution applies to the IND for the student residence permit. If an MVV is required, residents of Afghanistan must collect it at the mission named in the IND decision, outside Afghanistan.

Check recognized higher-education admission and the long-stay study checklist. The Belgian mission in Islamabad publishes document and submission instructions. Its jurisdiction must be confirmed for your place of residence.

Start with admission to an eligible institution and the EMGS student-pass process. Check the current passport, academic, insurance, medical-screening and entry-visa requirements before travel.

University admission and a student residence permit are separate steps. Confirm whether you need an entry visa, then follow the migration authority’s student residence, address and insurance requirements.

Confirm your university’s admission and study-visa supporting documents. Use the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan’s current instructions and its linked online visa system; do not use an obsolete application portal.

Research recognized degree programs and the government’s international scholarship scheme. The published 2026 scholarship window ended on 31 May 2026; a future intake is not assumed open. Confirm your student entry route with the university and authorities.

The Study in India portal describes admission, student-visa and immigration-registration steps. Confirm the current Afghan-passport application arrangements directly; an admission offer alone does not establish consular access.

Use Universitaly for the applicable pre-enrolment procedure. The Italian mission in Islamabad requires applicants to fall within its residence-based jurisdiction; living in Afghanistan does not automatically satisfy that condition. Confirm the responsible mission before proceeding.

Fee-paying admission and scholarship eligibility are separate. Do not assume Stipendium Hungaricum is open to Afghan nationals: check the official sending-partner and program lists for the relevant intake.

Information only: the UK visa brake requires refusal of new out-of-country Student applications by Afghan nationals submitted on or after 26 March 2026, including applicants with a CAS. Existing valid visas and eligible in-country applications are treated separately.

Information only: current US rules suspend visa issuance to Afghan nationals across immigrant and nonimmigrant categories, subject to limited exceptions. Do not treat a university offer or the ability to attend an interview as confirmation that a student visa can be issued.
