FLORENCE, ITALY — For recent graduates and young professionals who dream of an international career in European project management, Pixel’s International Master in European Project Planning and Management is proving to be far more than an academic credential — it is a direct launchpad into employment.
85% of alumni are now working as European project managers worldwide · 60 partner organisations · 20 European countries · 250+ alumni from 50 countries.
Since 2012, Pixel ( an international education and training institution headquartered in Florence, with over 27 years of experience in European project management) has designed a master programme with one main goal: getting participants hired. The formula is straightforward and demonstrably effective. Participants complete two months of intensive, practical training followed by a three-month guaranteed internship placed inside one of 60 active European partner organisations across 20 countries. The result speaks for itself: 85% of all graduates are currently employed in international project management roles.
“The programme combines theory with practical simulations, project work, and direct use of European Commission resources and documentation,” says the programme manager. “Students are not preparing for jobs — they are already doing them.”
Module 1 — European Project Planning: European funding policies and opportunities, project design and budgeting, application form writing, partnership development, award and selection criteria, and financial planning.
Module 2 — European Project Management: The full project management cycle, logical framework approach, risk management and quality assurance, financial and administrative management, communication and leadership, and project reporting.
Teaching is delivered by senior professionals — European project planners, project managers, evaluators, and auditors — each bringing 25 to 30 years of hands-on experience in planning, managing, and monitoring European projects.
Every participant is guaranteed a three-month placement as an Assistant European Project Manager within one of the programme’s 60 partner organisations (universities, research centres, NGOs, public authorities, and consultancies) spread across 20 European countries. Internships are matched to the participant’s profile and career interests, and are available both onsite across Europe and online for those who require flexibility.
Partners include institutions such as the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Kaunas University of Technology, the University of Ljubljana, APRE in Rome, BUPNET in Göttingen, and Inova+ in Porto, among many others spanning Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey.
The programme’s alumni network includes more than 250 graduates from 50 countries, and their career trajectories are the programme’s most compelling marketing tool.
“The knowledge gained during the Master meant an enormous added value for my professional career. I was offered my first job as a European project manager at the organisation where I had my internship in Brussels.”— Patricia M., Project Manager and Policy Analyst at AEIDL, Brussels, Belgium (Law graduate, Spain)
“Before even finishing my internship, I already had three job offers in hand. A truly transformative experience that opened doors immediately.”— Guillermo Luis C., Project Manager at Magneti Marelli, Milan, Italy (Engineering graduate, Paraguay)
“The Master diploma and the internship experience were crucial to convince my new employers of the relevance of my candidacy.”— Joël F., Research Project Manager at Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium (Researcher and Teacher, Belgium)
Graduates go on to work in roles including European Project Manager, Project Officer, International Cooperation Officer, and Research Project Manager across sectors such as:
The master runs over five months (approximately 800 hours) and is available in two formats: onsite in Florence for participants seeking a fully immersive international experience, and fully online for those who need flexibility while still accessing the same teaching materials, recorded lectures, tutor support, and internship opportunities.
New editions start in mid-October (onsite/online synchronous) or on demand (online asynchronous).
