The University of Milan Regional Scholarship 2026/27 for International Students is now accepting applications. This scholarship is in Italy offered to support eligible students who plan to study at the University of Milan. It is part of Italy’s DSU (Diritto allo Studio Universitario) financial aid system, which helps students with education costs based on their financial situation and academic performance. The scholarship is funded by the Lombardy Region and the Italian Ministry of University and Research. Many international students wonder whether they can apply for this scholarship. The answer is yes, provided they are enrolled in an eligible degree programme at the University of Milan and meet the official requirements. The University has separate financial assessment rules for applicants whose family income and assets are outside Italy. This means international students are welcome to apply, but they must submit the required financial documents along with their scholarship application. Unlike many international scholarships, the University of Milan Regional Scholarship is not a fully funded scholarship. Instead, it is a regional financial aid programme that supports eligible students based on financial need and academic merit. Depending on the scholarship result, selected students may receive financial support, tuition fee benefits, meal services, and other assistance described in the official call. Applications for the 2026/27 academic year are open until 30 September 2026.
Eligible Applicants: Eligible students enrolled in a degree programme at the University of Milan who meet the academic merit and financial requirements.
Financial scholarship. Full exemption from university tuition fees for scholarship winners. 50% tuition fee exemption for partial scholarship winners. One free midday meal from Monday to Saturday. Graduation incentive award for eligible students who complete their degree within the standard duration of their programme, subject to available funding. Note: The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and financial need. The exact benefits depend on the applicant’s scholarship status and eligibility under the official DSU regulations.
Students who receive the University of Milan Regional Scholarship and participate in a University-certified study abroad programme may also apply for the International Mobility Allowance. This allowance is available once at each study level for eligible students. Eligible students may receive: €600 per month for the approved study abroad period, for up to 10 months (including any EU mobility grants). Travel reimbursement of up to €100 for study abroad in European countries. Travel reimbursement of up to €500 for study abroad in countries outside Europe. Compensation for the free meals not received during the study abroad period. Note: Students must meet the Regional Scholarship requirements and participate in a University-certified international mobility programme to be eligible for this allowance.
Be an Italian or international student applying for or planning to enrol in a full-time programme at the University of Milan. If you are a new international student, you must also follow the University’s admission procedures. Fill in all the required information carefully and make sure everything is accurate. The deadline to apply for the 2026/27 Regional Scholarship is 30 September 2026 (23:59 GMT+2). Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
