Quick summary

Prak Net is a new internet provider for homes and businesses in Afghanistan, sold and managed through the Reab app. Customers and their families, many living abroad, order, pay for and manage their internet from their phones, so the network behind it has to be fast, stable and well documented. You will build that network with your own hands: tower and rooftop wireless links, fibre connections in parts of Kabul where fibre is already in the ground, MikroTik routing at the core, and TP-Link routers in customers’ homes. What you need Network Engineer: 3+ years installing and running ISP or wireless ISP networks. Senior Network Engineer: 5+ years, including designing networks and leading technicians. Strong MikroTik skills; MTCNA preferred (required for the senior role), MTCRE or MTCINE a plus. Hands-on wireless experience (e.g. Ubiquiti, Cambium, MikroTik radios): alignment, frequency planning, link budgets. Hands-on fibre experience: splicing, OTDR testing, and GPON/FTTH (OLT, ONT, splitters). Wireless and towers Survey sites and plan coverage for new areas, including line of sight and tower or rooftop options. Install towers, masts and rooftop sites: mount antennas and radios, run and protect cables, ground and secure equipment. Build and align point-to-point backbone links and point-to-multipoint links to customers. All interested and qualified candidates should fill out the application (https://forms.gle/7b3WifYsxNtqji6Q7) no later than November 07, 2026. Kindly Share and rename your CV along with short note with your full name before submitting it. Note: Applicants who do not complete the online application form will not be considered.

Overview

Prak Net is a new internet provider for homes and businesses in Afghanistan, sold and managed through the Reab app. Customers and their families, many living abroad, order, pay for and manage their internet from their phones, so the network behind it has to be fast, stable and well documented. You will build that network with your own hands: tower and rooftop wireless links, fibre connections in parts of Kabul where fibre is already in the ground, MikroTik routing at the core, and TP-Link routers in customers’ homes. You will connect new areas in Kabul and the provinces, and help switch customers who already use fibre from other providers over to Prak Net. We are hiring two engineers. The more experienced one joins as Senior Network Engineer and leads the technical work and planning; the second joins as Network Engineer and works alongside them in the field. Both are hands-on roles.

Requirements

What you need

Network Engineer: 3+ years installing and running ISP or wireless ISP networks.

Senior Network Engineer: 5+ years, including designing networks and leading technicians.

Strong MikroTik skills; MTCNA preferred (required for the senior role), MTCRE or MTCINE a plus.

Hands-on wireless experience (e.g. Ubiquiti, Cambium, MikroTik radios): alignment, frequency planning, link budgets.

Hands-on fibre experience: splicing, OTDR testing, and GPON/FTTH (OLT, ONT, splitters).

Experience installing and configuring TP-Link or similar customer routers.

Working knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP, PPPoE and basic routing.

Comfortable working at height on towers and rooftops, following safety rules.

Willing to travel to provinces, sometimes for several days.

Fluent Dari or Pashto; basic English for reports and equipment manuals.

Nice to have

Experience moving customers between providers on shared or leased fibre.

Experience with RADIUS or an ISP billing platform (Splynx, ISPbox or similar).

Experience with TP-Link Aginet or other remote router management (TR-069).

Network monitoring tools such as Zabbix, LibreNMS or The Dude.

A driving licence.

Your first 90 days

First month: learn our setup, audit existing equipment and links, and fix any urgent risks.

Second month: bring the first areas live (wireless and fibre) and complete the first customer installations.

Third month: start switching fibre customers from other providers, set up monitoring and finish the network documentation.

How we will measure success

Network uptime and how quickly faults are fixed.

Sites, links and fibre connections built on schedule and working reliably.

Installations and customer switch-overs completed on the booked day.

Fewer repeat faults each month.

Clear, up-to-date records of the network that anyone on the team can follow.

Responsibilities

Wireless and towers

Survey sites and plan coverage for new areas, including line of sight and tower or rooftop options.

Install towers, masts and rooftop sites: mount antennas and radios, run and protect cables, ground and secure equipment.

Build and align point-to-point backbone links and point-to-multipoint links to customers.

Plan frequencies, reduce interference and keep link quality high as the network grows.

Fibre

Connect Prak Net to fibre networks in Kabul, including fibre leased or shared from other providers.

Plan and build fibre-to-the-home (FTTH/GPON): OLT, splitters, distribution boxes and ONT installation at customers’ homes.

Splice, terminate and test fibre with OTDR and power meters; find and repair breaks quickly.

Move customers from other providers’ fibre to Prak Net with minimal downtime, including ONT and router swaps.

Keep a clear map of every fibre route, splice point, splitter and customer port.

Core network and MikroTik

Configure and run MikroTik routers: routing (OSPF, BGP basics), PPPoE, VLANs, speed queues, firewall and failover.

Connect upstream bandwidth and set up backup links so customers stay online if one link fails.

Set up speed plans, night speeds, data limits and suspensions with the RADIUS and billing system.

Plan IP addressing and keep the network secure: strong passwords, restricted management access, regular updates.

Customer installations

Install and configure TP-Link routers at homes and businesses, set up Wi-Fi and test speed before leaving.

Connect routers to the remote management platform so customers can change Wi-Fi, see devices and restart from the app.

Explain the service clearly and politely to customers and their families.

Monitoring, faults and outages

Monitor links, towers and routers and act on alerts before customers notice.

Restore service fast during outages, then write a short report on the cause and the fix.

Reduce repeat faults by fixing root causes, not just symptoms.

Records, stock and reporting

Document sites, links, IP plans and device settings, with passwords stored securely.

Track stock of routers, radios, fibre, cables and spare parts.

Work with the software team so speed boosts, Wi-Fi controls and outage alerts work end to end in the app.

Send the founders a weekly report: work done, new installations, open faults, capacity and what is needed.

Extra for the Senior Network Engineer

Design the overall network and plan expansion area by area, with costs.

Lead and train the Network Engineer and any technicians we add; set safety rules for tower and rooftop work.

Choose equipment and suppliers with the Operations Manager.
