Overview

Community World Service Asia is a non-governmental organization which implements humanitarian and development activities in Asia. The Regional Director heads the program in Asia. In line with our strategic plan, the project is seeking Project Officer to implement an integrated program enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. The project focuses on Food Security, Livelihoods, DRR and WASH.

Community World Service Asia has been implementing humanitarian projects across Afghanistan through its various thematic portfolios, ranging from Livelihoods, Health, Emergencies, Climate Action & Risk Reduction, Quality and Accountability, and WASH. To capture the impact of CWSA’s programmes and the communities they serve, the Communications Office is seeking a professional field communicator to undertake a 10-day field assignment across four key programme locations: Bamyan, Jalalabad, Kunar, and Laghman.

The proposed scope involves two days in each location, with Jalalabad serving as the base for visits to Kunar and Laghman, both approximately 45 minutes away. The consultant will be required to travel to each site to capture photographs, b-roll footage, and interviews, which will be post-produced into the agreed final deliverables. The consultant must ensure a consistent, professional aesthetic aligned with CWSA branding across all final outputs.

The project team, together with CWSA’s Senior Communications Officer based in Kabul, will support and facilitate the consultant throughout the assignment, including the provision of detailed task sheets, guidelines, and checklists for each location.

Requirements

The Consultant is expected to

  • Undertake a 10-day field visit across Bamyan, Jalalabad, Kunar, and Laghman, allocating two days to each location, with Jalalabad serving as the base for visits to Kunar and Laghman (approx. 45 minutes from Jalalabad).
  • Produce 35–50 high-quality, professionally edited photographs from each project site, each accompanied by appropriate captions.
  • Produce either two photo essays OR two one-minute reels from each project site, as agreed with CWSA’s focal person.
  • Organise and submit all files in accordance with the agreed timeline and format.
  • Ensure a professional aesthetic, aligned with CWSA branding and visual appeal, across all final deliverables.
  • Make corrections or revisions to submitted work until it receives approval from CWSA’s focal person.
  • Submit all final deliverables to CWSA no later than 10 December 2026.
