Tell Me About The Scholarship

The Chevening–Leicester Partner Scholarship is a joint initiative between the UK Government’s Chevening Programme and the University of Leicester. It offers two fully funded scholarships for international students from Chevening‑eligible countries to pursue a one‑year taught Master’s degree at Leicester starting in September 2027.

Which Fields are Eligible

Eligible programmes include one‑year taught Master’s courses within

College of Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities

School of Geography, Geology & Environment

Who Can Apply

Applicants must

Be citizens of a Chevening‑eligible country (160+ countries, excluding India).

Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or 2:2.

Have at least two years of work experience (≈ 2,800 hours, including voluntary work).

Apply to three different UK Master’s programmes and secure an unconditional offer from at least one.

Commit to returning to their home country for two years after completion.

How Are Scholars Selected

Selection is managed by the Chevening Secretariat.

Based on academic merit, leadership potential, networking ability, and career plan essays.

References and interviews form part of the process.
