FLORENCE, ITALY — In an era when graduate employability is a growing concern, one programme has maintained an extraordinary track record: 85% of its alumni are currently working as international project managers around the world. Pixel’s International Master in European Project Planning and Management does not promise a career — it delivers one, backed by a guaranteed internship that places every single participant inside a real European organisation before graduation.
85% of alumni working as European project managers worldwide · 100% internship placement rate · 60+ partner organisations · 20 European countries · 300 graduates from 50 nationalities
Since its first edition in 2012, Pixel’s Master programme has grown into one of the most internationally diverse postgraduate offerings in the field of European project management. To date, approximately 300 graduates from 50 nationalities have completed the programme, forming an alumni network that spans universities, public authorities, international organisations, NGOs, and private consultancies across every corner of Europe and beyond.
Pixel itself is an international education and training institution headquartered in Florence, Italy, with over 27 years of experience in European project management and higher education cooperation. Its programmes are delivered in English by trainers from multiple European countries, creating a classroom environment that mirrors the international teams graduates will join upon employment.
“Enrolling in the Master in European Project Planning and Management was one of the best decisions of my life.”
The programme’s design rests on four pillars that distinguish it from conventional academic offerings:
Real EU project work from day one: Participants don’t study European projects in the abstract — they work on them. Practical simulations, real project-based learning, and direct use of European Commission documentation are integrated throughout both modules.
A guaranteed international internship: Every participant receives a guaranteed three-month placement as Assistant European Project Manager in one of 60+ partner organisations across 20 European countries. The placement rate is 100% — every student, every edition.
Exceptional career outcomes: 85% of all graduates are currently working as international project managers worldwide, across sectors ranging from higher education and research to consulting, public administration, and the European institutions.
A practitioner-led curriculum: Every trainer is an active EU project professional — proposal writers who have won multiple EU grants, evaluators who have assessed hundreds of applications, financial managers experienced in auditing, and coordinators running multi-million euro consortia.
The curriculum is structured into two core modules, covering the full lifecycle of European project work:
Module 1 — European Project Planning: Analysis of EU funding opportunities; matching ideas with funding programmes; interpreting calls for proposals; creating transnational partnerships; budget planning and financial design; writing the application form; project self-assessment and quality; submission process and selection criteria.
Module 2 — European Project Management: Contractual procedures and compliance; project life cycle and organisation; Logical Framework Approach (LFA); managing the project partnership; communication and leadership; monitoring and evaluation; financial management and administration; reporting, dissemination, and auditing.
Trainers teach what they do every day and what European Commission evaluators actually look for — giving participants a professional edge that purely academic programmes cannot replicate.
The programme’s most distinctive feature is its unconditional internship guarantee. Unlike many programmes that facilitate or encourage placements, Pixel guarantees that every participant will complete a three-month internship as an Assistant European Project Manager within one of its 60+ active partner organisations. Placements are available both onsite across Europe and online, matched to each participant’s profile and career aspirations.
For the graduates themselves, the impact extends well beyond professional credentials.
“The Master was one of the things that had the biggest impact on me and one of the main reasons I am what I am today. I was hired as European project manager right after the internship.”
“Attending this Master was a major milestone in my career and one of the best periods in my life.”
“The Master programme served as a huge input in my further career growth, development and life itself. After a successful three-month internship I received an offer from my supervisor to continue the collaboration.”
Graduates go on to work across an exceptionally broad range of organisations and sectors, including:
The master runs over five months (approximately 800 hours) and is available in two formats: onsite in Florence for those seeking a fully immersive international experience, and fully online for those who require flexibility. Both formats offer access to the same teaching content, recorded lectures, tutor support, and — critically — the same guaranteed internship.
