Programme

• online pre-training: week of 5 Oct 2026.
• 6-night residential.
• Ghana: week of 12 Oct.
• Nigeria: week of 19 Oct.
• selected pitch winners: fully funded London knowledge exchange week of 30 Nov.

• Climate/environment: flooding، heat، pollution، resilience، energy transition etc.
• Biomedical innovation: diagnostics، biotech، genomics، digital health، clinical research.
• Circular economy/e-waste: reuse، repair، recycling، contamination، regulation، employment etc.

Digital skills

platform strategy، short-form video، data storytelling، visual design.

Story pitch

participants develop an original story and pitch on final residential day for production/publication support. Public call does not state exact cash value.

UK visit

only selected subset/pitch winners; not guaranteed to every fellow.

Eligibility – all required

• age 18+.
• currently based Ghana or Nigeria.
• journalist in print/broadcast/online OR qualifying public digital creator.
• at least 5 original SIT-related pieces in previous 12 months.
• full online + residential attendance.
• valid passport or ability to obtain one.
• professional English.

Selection

• SIT relevance 35%.
• previous-work quality 30%.
• impact potential 25%.
• collaboration readiness 5%.
• diversity/inclusion 5%.

Women strongly encouraged; target ≥40% female cohort. People outside major cities and underrepresented/marginalized groups encouraged.
