Wireless and towers
Survey sites and plan coverage for new areas, including line of sight and tower or rooftop options.
Install towers, masts and rooftop sites: mount antennas and radios, run and protect cables, ground and secure equipment.
Build and align point-to-point backbone links and point-to-multipoint links to customers.
Plan frequencies, reduce interference and keep link quality high as the network grows.
Fibre
Connect Prak Net to fibre networks in Kabul, including fibre leased or shared from other providers.
Plan and build fibre-to-the-home (FTTH/GPON): OLT, splitters, distribution boxes and ONT installation at customers’ homes.
Splice, terminate and test fibre with OTDR and power meters; find and repair breaks quickly.
Move customers from other providers’ fibre to Prak Net with minimal downtime, including ONT and router swaps.
Keep a clear map of every fibre route, splice point, splitter and customer port.
Core network and MikroTik
Configure and run MikroTik routers: routing (OSPF, BGP basics), PPPoE, VLANs, speed queues, firewall and failover.
Connect upstream bandwidth and set up backup links so customers stay online if one link fails.
Set up speed plans, night speeds, data limits and suspensions with the RADIUS and billing system.
Plan IP addressing and keep the network secure: strong passwords, restricted management access, regular updates.
Customer installations
Install and configure TP-Link routers at homes and businesses, set up Wi-Fi and test speed before leaving.
Connect routers to the remote management platform so customers can change Wi-Fi, see devices and restart from the app.
Explain the service clearly and politely to customers and their families.
Monitoring, faults and outages
Monitor links, towers and routers and act on alerts before customers notice.
Restore service fast during outages, then write a short report on the cause and the fix.
Reduce repeat faults by fixing root causes, not just symptoms.
Records, stock and reporting
Document sites, links, IP plans and device settings, with passwords stored securely.
Track stock of routers, radios, fibre, cables and spare parts.
Work with the software team so speed boosts, Wi-Fi controls and outage alerts work end to end in the app.
Send the founders a weekly report: work done, new installations, open faults, capacity and what is needed.
Extra for the Senior Network Engineer
Design the overall network and plan expansion area by area, with costs.
Lead and train the Network Engineer and any technicians we add; set safety rules for tower and rooftop work.
Choose equipment and suppliers with the Operations Manager.
