Resilience, Environment, and Humanitarian Aid (REHA) is a national NGO registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy, specializing in environmental protection, climate change, disaster risk reduction, and cross-cutting areas such as agriculture, livelihood support, and humanitarian assistance. REHA employs a balanced approach, combining “hard” interventions (e.g., infrastructure, resource management) with “soft” interventions (e.g., capacity building, advocacy) to address the needs of communities affected by climate and humanitarian crises.
REHA’s unique strengths include designing and implementing advocacy campaigns, conducting capacity-building training, performing risk and vulnerability assessments, developing policies, and raising awareness. These efforts are complemented by physical interventions and community empowerment and development initiatives aimed at building resilience against natural and man-made disasters, emergencies, and climate change impacts.
With over 19 years of expertise, REHA’s team excels in climate change governance, disaster risk management, and environmental protection, supported by strong capabilities in program management, organizational strengthening, and financial and operational oversight.
About the Project:
REHA (Resilience, Environment and Humanitarian Aid) is implementing a ten-month technical assistance initiative to strengthen the institutional and operational capacity of the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA).
The project follows a two-tier Training of Trainers (ToT) model. A standardized curriculum and training materials have been developed, and initial ToT sessions have been conducted in Kabul and Balkh. Master Trainers will support the delivery of ToT sessions for ANDMA-supported volunteer groups in the remaining targeted provinces, including Kandahar, Nangarhar, and Faryab. The trained volunteer groups will then support ANDMA in delivering community-level disaster preparedness training.
The Master Trainer will deliver practical, standardized, and context-specific disaster preparedness training and contribute to strengthening local response capacities.
The objective of this assignment is to engage four qualified Master Trainers who will, after receiving advanced training, deliver standardized, practical, and context-specific disaster preparedness training to ANDMA-supported volunteer groups, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and strengthening local response capacities.
3. Scope of Work
· Participate in advanced Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions conducted by the REHA project team and other Master Trainers.
· Acquire the required technical knowledge, facilitation skills, and understanding of disaster preparedness training methodologies.
· Review and familiarize themselves with the approved curriculum, training materials, tools, and session plans provided by REHA.
· Support the REHA project team in reviewing and refining training materials based on field experience and participant needs.
· Plan and organize ToT sessions in coordination with REHA and ANDMA for ANDMA-supported volunteer groups.
· Deliver standardized, practical, and context-specific disaster preparedness training to volunteer groups.
· Facilitate participatory sessions, group work, practical exercises, simulations, and discussions.
· Adapt training delivery to the local context and participants’ needs while maintaining the required curriculum standards.
· Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure participants’ learning and knowledge improvement.
· Provide technical guidance and practical support to volunteer groups during and after the training sessions.
· Coordinate with ANDMA focal points and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of training activities.
· Document training sessions, attendance, participant feedback, assessment results, lessons learned, and challenges.
· Prepare and submit training reports and other required documentation to the REHA project team in a timely manner.
