The Berlin School of Economics PhD Program 2027 in Germany invites applications from highly qualified outstanding doctoral students from around the world. The PhD Scholarships in Germany 2027 provides students an opportunity to develop their talents in a unique and high-level research environment. Furthermore, they will have policy-oriented and applied research opportunities also. During the PhD program, students will receive state-of-the-art coursework training. They will get a chance to select from different fields of study including Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Management.
The PhD program’s curriculum is divided into two phases. The Qualification Phase will run for about three semesters, during which students will receive coursework training in economic theory, applied economics, business studies, econometrics, and economic policy. During this phase, students will define their specialized research area and find supervisors for guidance. They will also write research proposals and discuss them with faculty members. This is one of the unique features of the Germany PhD Scholarships for International Students, as students have the flexibility to choose their research topics and supervisors. During the qualification phase, students will receive funding through monthly stipends.
The second phase is Dissertation Phase which will take place for about three years. In this phase, students will write a doctoral thesis. They will get an opportunity to apply their knowledge practically. In this phase, students are usually employed in research groups at research institutes. For this program, the PhD will be awarded by one of the institutions in the Berlin School of Economics with the right to award doctoral degrees. The first phase offers a stipend while the second phase offers employment. All the universities and economic research institutes participating in the Berlin School of Economics will be provided with a professional working environment making the working experience exceptional. Funding during the Dissertation Phase is normally provided through employment at one of the Berlin School of Economics’ member institutions, subject to meeting the program’s performance requirements

Applicants from related fields, such as industrial engineering, statistics, or quantitative social sciences, can apply if they have a sufficient background in economics or business studies.
Candidates may provide GRE General Test scores with their application. However, GRE scores are not mandatory but are highly recommended. No minimum score is specified
Applicants whose native language is not English should demonstrate their English language proficiency unless they hold a degree from a university in an English-speaking country or have completed at least one year of study at an English-speaking university. IELTS or TOEFL scores are highly recommended but not mandatory
