About RAG

از 2022 برای strategic guidance، rapid insight و independent challenge به FCDO research portfolio ایجاد شده و از Chief Scientific Adviser / Research and Evidence Division support می‌کند.

Role

members در personal capacity خدمت می‌کنند، نه به‌عنوان representative employer/university/profession/interest group. آنان باید فراتر از discipline خود در broader agenda مشارکت کنند.

Responsibilities

• Research Priorities:

advice on

• FCDO research priorities/activities.
• relation with UK science base.
• international research connections.
• emerging research needs.

• Evidence-Informed Policy:

assess quality، relevance و usefulness evidence for policy and development impact.

• Programme Effectiveness:

comment on

• effectiveness.
• value for money.
• R&D funding mechanisms.
• performance/relevance.

• Portfolio Strategy:

identify

• research gaps.
• areas needing more/less emphasis.
• emerging priorities.
• opportunities to strengthen portfolio.

• Horizon Scanning:

long-range scenario planning for emerging global challenges.

• Specialist Connections:

link FCDO to UK/international academic and specialist networks.

• Emergency Response:

where required، scientific advice for emergency response/disaster preparedness.

Time Commitment

• 4 meetings/year.
• each 2.5–3 hours.
• preparation 2–3 hours each.
• occasional extra meetings/ad hoc expert input.
• papers usually circulated ~1 week in advance.

Appointment

• 3 years.
• renewable once.
• maximum 2 terms / potentially 6 years.
