AC Technician (Herat)

The AC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs air conditioning systems, ensuring efficient operation and providing technical support for offices, guest houses, and regional facilities.

Be literate (preferably a high school graduate).

Certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field.

Up to 3 years of relevant experience (including VRF AC systems).

Expert knowledge of VRF system installation in new buildings.

Proven experience in testing and commissioning VRF systems.

Strong skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

Knowledge of refrigerant piping, electrical wiring, and control systems.

Ability to read HVAC drawings and technical specifications.

Strong understanding of safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Must pass a practical technical assessment to demonstrate VRF expertise.

Fluent in one of the local languages (Dari or Pashto). Understanding of English is an asset.

Possesses a thorough understanding of the tools, equipment, and procedures specific to the job role.

Physically fit to perform tasks.

Demonstrates a strong work ethic.

Upholds integrity and honesty.

Capable of working effectively under pressure.

Willing to travel to other provinces and work additional hours as needed.

Adheres to company rules and policies.

Must have strong technical knowledge and practical experience with VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air-conditioning systems.

Responsible for the installation of new VRF AC systems in the newly constructed building.

Perform testing, commissioning, and initial setup of newly installed VRF AC systems.

Inspect and verify the proper installation of indoor and outdoor AC units, refrigerant piping, drainage, and electrical connections.

Conduct regular preventive maintenance of all VRF AC systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults in VRF systems, including compressors, sensors, control boards, and communication systems.

Perform necessary repairs and replacement of defective AC components in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

Monitor system performance and ensure proper cooling, heating, airflow, and temperature control in all designated areas.

Check refrigerant levels, identify refrigerant leaks, and perform safe refrigerant handling and charging when required.

Ensure proper operation and configuration of VRF controllers, thermostats, and centralized control systems.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other technical teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning of new AC systems.

Maintain accurate records of AC installations, maintenance activities, technical faults, repairs, and replaced components.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, technical standards, and manufacturer recommendations during all installation and maintenance activities.

Identify potential technical problems and recommend appropriate solutions to prevent system failures and unnecessary operational costs.

Submit regular reports to the Facilities Management team regarding system performance, maintenance requirements, technical issues, and the status of installation and repair activities.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
